Sorry, this stuff is so distinctive that I think you either love it or hate it and I'm afraid that I hate it - yuck! Swap you for a pint of VB! Have a great Australia Day.

I love vegemite even if it tastes like used car oil. I even got to eat some when I was on an under '35s tour of Europe back in '84. Somebody had brought some along in their luggage. It was like gold!!! (Don't the Americans own it now? Grrrr.) I think I'll go and have some on toast right now, just to celebrate Aussie Day. Happy Aussie Day!

ha ha.... I first heard about this when my Aussie relatives came over years ago. They were like, "where's the Vegemite?"... the WHAT? So this was a fun reminder.

I'm afraid I'm one of the ones that does not like it very much. But it did remind me of the time I worked with a guy from Australia, and yes, he did carry a jar of vegemite with him. Happy Australia Day!

Ha, I have a coworker whom I adore from Australia and I can't wait to quiz and tease her on Monday about Vegamite, which I first heard of from the song I come from the land down under by Men at Work.

Great set of photos. Also, I travelled overseas and took a small jar of vegemite with me, which was handy because no other country sells it. (I eat mine on pancakes)
