Coming from a family of teachers, I had to laugh... It seems that wherever there are teachers there are lots and lots of books and papers in stacks!

Not much "escape" I see! :-) I imagine teaching to be a tough profession, I'm always grateful for those who love it!

So recognizable! There is no such thing as a private lunch, unless you lock yourself in a closet((:

oh my gosh i'd cry if i had to multi task during lunch. actually i used to teach and i'd have about 30 min for lunch but once i got everything cleaned up from my class before lunch (i taught art) and got to the lounge to eat i'd have very little time because i'd have to get back early to my room to set up for the next class! i didn't appreciate it enough when high school teachers let me come in during their lunch to give me help! great 'slice of the life of a teacher' shot! :-)

Lunch? Lunch?! What's that?! I remember it as asking a colleague to watch a group of kids while I ran off to take a toilet break! It was like that from 8am through 5pm - as long as there weren't after school meetings with parents or drama productions running - then it cod go well into the evenings. Seems that there are quite a few teachers and ex-teachers here on Photoblog... we need a constructive form of therapy to keep our sanity ;-) Really this is a very serious issue for teachers today. I left after 25 years in the classroom though I loved "my" kids. 6 years later I still have parents asking me if I'd consider returning. 50 - 60 hour weeks at full throttle is too much, especially considering the low pay rates.
