These next few shots are only seconds apart and when viewing them on my PC rapidly, they almost look like movie film as the waves roll in.

This was our last morning at Narooma. After breakfast, we would be starting the rest of the trip back home. One thing I have always wanted to do, was to capture the Sunrise, and for varying reasons (weather, didn't get up on time, etc.) have never managed.
I said to my wife the previous night, I wanted to get up early, about 5.15am, and walk down to the beach and wait for the sun to come up. There was a slight chuckle from Mary when she thought about me getting up that early to take photos, anyway Mary said OK, and that she would like to come too.
Next morning, we did manage to get out of bed on time (5.15am), it was still dark outside, and after a quick coffee, we headed down to the beach. Luckily I had packed my tripod before we left home for this trip, (I knew I had good reason to pack the tripod).
Once we had walked down to the beach through the dunes, I could see the horizon was quite clouded, but mounted the camera on tripod and set it up.
I took the first of over 100 photos, around 5.30, and kept taking shots every couple of minutes. I am still not that good with manual settings on my Fuji S5600, so I left it set on "Auto". Some of the first pics aren't all that good, as it was still a little dark for auto-focus.
I didn't actually get to capture the Sun breaking the horizon, but did get to capture it burning the tops of the clouds and that was just as exciting.
The Lighthouse on Montague Island was still beaming its light and in some pics you can "See the Light"
These are the last of our 2008 holiday photos. Now having finished posting this lot,,,,maybe I will get back other regular posting.

Beautiful set - it was definitely worth the effort!
I think I would be huddled up next to Mary trying ot saty warm. I am a sissy when it comes to cold weather. 23 and 24 are just fabulous shots! Congrats to you.
