A very early start, saw the moon in full flow on the walk out to the slabs at Cwm Idwal. Off the track, the snow was as much as 500mm deep - great fun but tiring to walk through!

Lots of people going through this area this morning on the way to the Devil's Kitchen and the Gribbin Facet, with many ice climbs being in prime condition, including the rare Devil's Appendix.

Looking at the Devil's Kitchen (2nd & 4th shots), en route to the Glyder mountains, all the water flows were fully frozen (50 feet high plus) as well as the Idwal Stream, about a grade II climb today.

Idwal and Ogwen Lakes were completely frozen over and it was a struggle getting to Ogwen Cottage pre-dawn as the road had some fresh snow and ice on it.
