I had already sorted out a few shots whilst out working, but the evening was so calm and still so I couldn't resist a trip down the road to have another go at capturing the castle at night.

Fairly happy with the outcome, but I need to brush up on night shoot techniques more so there will be another session here again! A bit earlier in the evening with some more ambient light I think would be useful.

I shot some at ISO 200 and 800. This is 800 as I was trying to bring a bit more of the bridge and river into the shot.

That first shot is perfect! The castle is lit up beautifully, the reflection in the water is wonderful, and I love the 'star' lights (which I recently discovered is caused by using a small aperture, in case you want to recreate or avoid it in future :) ) tracyseeger · 2010-01-27: 17:52
