a second attempt. i tried not to let the flash point towards the camera, but you can still see the different positions i set it off at in the reflection of the patio door.

late last night, or early this morning, i had an itch to try something out. it's called "light painting" and it basically consists of setting up your camera for a very long exposure, and firing a flash multiple times to properly light the subject. it seemed to work out okay. i'm going to have to play around with it a bit more.
then at work today, i was asked to create some posters, and the post its were one of the shots i ended up using. post-its for the poster.
after that i left for lunch to hang out with the guys from mazdasnw.com over at speedware motorsports. very cool shop. they seemed to focus on performance upgrades on a lot of special cars. they also had a ton of projects in the back, but i didn't want to harass the guys about taking pictures of them, so i just admired them from afar.

#2 is a very interesting effect. Is it possible to do it without the light source shining directly at the camera?... maybe keep it out of view, yet accomplish the light angles you desire? I also like the perspective in #6.
