world within the woods...

2009.06.14
the view from the flat that we hung out at...

the rushing water was an awesome backdrop...

... and it was right next to a few still pools.

shelly hard at work.

shelly told me the name of this moss, but with all the names she rattled off through out the day, i doubt i'll ever remember what this was called. but it's sitting among some yarn moss.

snake-skinned liverwort.

unripe blackberry.

lots of spiders out there.

this flying ant is actually dead. there were a few of these around, just clinging on where they died.

the shedded skin of some cricket-like bug.

went out to the woods with shelly for the day. she was doing some work-related moss research and photography while i tried to find bugs and other strange things. we were so entertained with all the small things we kept finding, we spent several hours within a 10-square-yard area without realizing it.

Andre721 It is amazing what you can find in a really small area of the woods.

etodd80 The snake skinned stuff is strange. Nice water in 2. The shedded skin one is strange and cool too.
