Just some miscellaneous old coins that I found.... the bottom two are no longer valid in circulation having been replaced by newer, 'smaller' versions... 50 pence and 5 pence.. note that the 5p coin is in fact an old Shilling piece... after decimalization in the seventies the 'shilling' reference would have been replaced with a simple "5".

As above but Heads Side Up!
The top coin is a £2 coin..... but it is not the more usual dual alloy design currently in circulation.... In fact I have never come across this design so I assume it is a special edition version in the same vain as the Jubilee coins...
Note that it has a light gold colouration whereas all the others are classic silver

NOT a coin... although I thought it was for years (it was originally very dirty)... but in fact an award; a medal
I found this back in the seventies just outside my parents bedroom window (I would have been....well.... young!!)

The other side..... so.... Mr Fred Strassburg.... apparently very punctual!!
See the date... 1901-1904... so it is now over a hundred years old.... ok... not super old but it is... unusual... and a bit of someones personal history... note that it would have originated from western australia!!!...(see prev. pic)
It is 3cm across (1 1/4") and appears to be made from the same metal alloy as a typical 'copper coin"
I do not consider myself overtly sentimental.... but.... I will keep this safe.... let it continue its history!!
