Light painting

The magnificent "Sound and Light" show at the Golconda Fort, Hyderabad, India.

The Golconda fort is a very prominent historical attraction of Hyderabad. Built during the rule of the Nawabs, it spans a lot of area and the highest point of the fort is right atop one of the hills within the fort.

During the show, which showcases the history of the fort, various coloured lights are projected at various structures and parts of the hill, and the viewers sit at the base of the hill. Its an awesome experience. The directional sounds is used to explain the history and is synchronized with the lights. This is one of the best sound systems I've ever heard.

Shooting this show in total darkness without a tripod was perhaps the toughest challenge I've had to face till date. I couldn't get good shots of the higher places on the hill as I didn't want to zoom and increase chances of camera shake.

Shot with Nikon D50 18-70mm Full Manual mode
A : f/3.5
S : 1/6s (handheld)
FL : 18mm
ISO : 800

I had to bring up the shadows areas in PP a bit. Hope you like it. And if you like, I can post some more tomorrow.

This must be viewed in the large size. Please!!
