Flight. Cropped. First of all I must say that I was going to pack my D300 body. That would have made my 70-300VR zoom, a 105mm - 450mm. Had I only known... But I was already packing two camera bags of gear with my D700, lenses, and my medium format gear so I left the D300 behind. Shame on me.
Nikon D700, Nikon 70-33VR, handheld, 1/100th F6.3, ISO 200, cropped. I will post the little bit of landscape shots, and some other stuff I shot at a later date as I'm still sorting images out. |
Bald Eagle in Flight. Nikon D700, Nikon 70-300VR, 1/250th sec, F6.3, ISO 200 handheld, cropped. Seriously cropped.

Landing Snow Geese on Assatague Island. That's the ocean way back in the background.
Nikon D700, Nikon 70-300VR, 1/1000 Sec F6.3, ISO 400 handheld in gale force wind. Cropped. |
A Bird. LOL. Late afternoon light.
Nikon D700, Nikon 70-30)VR 1/320th sec, F6.3, ISO 400 handheld, no cropping |
Late Afternoon Fisherman. Nikon D700, Nikon 70-300VR, 1/200th sec, F6.3, ISO 400 handheld. Sun low in the background.

Don't sweat it. In this kind of photography, unless you're really hooked, I think the capture is more fun than the result, and it looks like you had fun.

We had the wind here on the South Shore area of Boston, too . . .downright miserable being out in it. I like the golden hue and composition of shot 4.
