B&W HDR of my Trees

2011.03.03
pixel
Swaying Trees. This is a three shot HDR processed in Photomatix. The original images were shot in B&W.
Panasonic LX5, 1/400th second, F4.0, ISO 100. As each exposure was recorded, the tree branches had moved, hence the ghosting. Looks really neat larger, unfortunately no can do here.
And I gotta say again, I'm really lovin' this little pocket gem! Wow.
I'm extremely nit picky of noise and artifacts in my images, which is why I don't like smaller sensor P&S cameras for myself, but this thing is just unbelievable up to ISO 800. ISO 1600 is "usable" if you r.e.a.l.l.y need the shot. I've cleaned up some ISO 1600 images with LR3, and NoiseNinja but I wouldn't push my luck. The ISO goes up to ISO 12,800 but the images are crap as can be expected from such a small sensor. I would only use that if I saw bigfoot, at night, in a snowstorm, in the mountains and needed proof.

Corajudd Very dramatic - the ghosting looks like spring growth.
