Rainy Seaside

Blowing Sand Dunes. Nikon D700, Nikon 85mm F1.4 @ F2.0, ISO 200, 1/1000 second, handheld in the gale force wind and driving rain you can't see. All in the name of art I suppose....
And those "blobs" just where the dry sand meets the wet are sea gulls huddled for warmth.

As you can see the very shallow depth of field at F2.0 is so shallow only the little loop wire, and the larger middle post deep in the sand are in true focus. Couldn't really shoot at F1.4 as the movement of the camera caused by the whipping wind would just wipeout whatever I had focused on since 1.4 only yeilds a plane of focus of about a 1/4" either way and I find that just inhaling, and exhaling are enough to mess up focus never mind being blown about in gale-like force winds.

Fenced In Dunes. Nikon D700, Nikon 85mm F1.4 @ f2.0, ISO 200, 1/800 second in a wild, driving what felt like a gale-force wind driven, pelting rainstorm. Shot six/seven frames, and headed back to the car.
