It's all About the Light (and a little Luck)

This image is all about light, and luck. I was trying to beat a path towards my hotel in Southern Utah. I was on a 4x4 only dirt track just north of the Arizona border. The skies were threatening; I had already forded two swollen creeks due to far-off rain storms, and I didn't want to spend the night in the back of a truck. The light seen here lasted about 45 seconds. I was able to snap off ONE shot in this light. This is it. I got out of the truck, ran up hill, focused, adjusted, and shot and then the light was gone forever as the clouds moved in over the scene. Damn shame too as I would have just LOVED to have a few minutes to really work the scene -- especially with that twisted Juniper off to the left, or the trunk center, right. But, for me, just as well because as soon as my tires hit solid pavement a short while later, coming off the rock strewn, slilppery, wet clay/dirt, the skies just opened up. As I mentioned in my post of the 22nd, the next morning we had six or more inches of snow.
The light was just incredible for those few precious seconds and I am truly thankful I was there to witness it.
