Well I just got back from a four days in Maine and New Hampshire. All my friends ask why -- well this time, I am looking for another home in Maine. I'm there four-five times per year. I met up with my new realtor and we traveled all over the coastal areas to view ten different properties. I had narrowed it down to a large house with an attached business which is on the corner and has amazing views, from large airy windows in every room. It comes with the office/store which is attached, plus a garage, a huge workshop, and the workshop has a loft. I'm thinking the Office (which is now the Maine Lobster Conservancy) will be a new gallery in town (mine), the workshop who knows what, and the loft over the workshop a photo studio. Never mind the endless number of room spread out over three floors. I love open, airy rooms. My second choice was a property which is actually two lots. One contains the main house, the second property contains a gorgeous cottage which is a summer rental property. And, the beauty of this one is it comes with a caretaker. Typical Maine Coastal home, three wood stoves, hidden off a side road in a harbor/bay town. It's gonna be hard to choose. My realtor just sent me several more properties she researched so in a couple of weeks, it's back to Maine. I'm considering making an offer now on the one with the two homes just to feel the owners out. They only live there now in the summers and they want to get rid of it as it's too much for them to travel from Florida. It's gonna be an interesting summer for sure.

atszabo Wow, I love watching Househunters and International Househunters on HGTV! This sounds like an episode from that series!
How exciting! It is also good to see the economy starting to move again, the world of all sellers and no buyers has lasted way too long! Good luck to you, and remember what an agent told me long time ago: it's all brick and mortar and wood, so do not fall in love with any of them... if you can't get one, there is always another one for sale, maybe an even better! one!
