With lot's of difficulties for us (spotters) to take pictures from the approach and landing of the first flight ever of EASYJET to Madeira, the SOA (Airport Authority) lately doesn't have colaborate at all with us, so we "work" from the terrace of the airport. Also a word to the ATC, who putted the Airbus A310 from SATA in front of all the people what were waiting to see the first landing of EASYJET, by sending the SATA to taxyway B, no sense at all. For all these reasons, this was the first moment to take pictures of this debut in Madeira.

Entering the stand with the fire trucks already making the welcome salute!
WELCOME! |
This kind of celebration makes some rainbows once in a while!
Entering the stand and notice: Easyjet with so many aircraft in the fleet, they brought one, not with Madeira, Bristol or Stansted, but with big titles "Edinburgh"! Called them stupid ah ah ah
After passing the water cannon salute! Those water cannon salute give a greater images in the stand, that was a good idea from ANAM.
ANAM and Madeira Tourism, giving some souvenirs and a silver plate to the captain of the flight.
A license plate? Could someone tell me what is that plate?
Some crew members of this first flight, the first officer (pictures at right) looks very young!
Early rotating runway 05, just in front of us!
Easyjet will connect Bristol and Madeira with two flights per week.
In a day with all the lights pointed to Easyjet, Sterling return to Madeira after a few years, the aircraft needs a new paint job.
A take-off with a imediate right turn, very nice!
Late afternoon, we see the G-EZAF in short final runway 05, this flight came from Stansted.
Smokey touch down runway 05!
Another welcome bath on stand A06, this time i choose to be outside of the airport for two reasons, one is to try a different angle, other reason is because of the sunlight from this side we get the good light.
Notice the direction of the water cannons from the fire trucks ;) i guess it's for comfort of all the viewers.
In the afternoon press and the other people got inside the aircraft, for interviews and etc...
A little bit after, the crew took some pictures in Madeira. They look very happy!
The last ray of sunlights on this premiere from Stansted!
Already very dark, so i had to use ISO400 to get some acceptable pictures, but the lights of the airport didn't "fool" anyone about the darkness :P
Very nice shots. Despite the joy of Easyjet's premiere, #11 and 12# look also very nice and nostalgic. Welcome back Sterling... (and yes it does need a paint job...)

Boas A placa é a quantidade de combustivel a abastecer (9,6 Toneladas)! Nem todos os Airbus têm o sistema interno de comando automático de abastecimento como têm, por exemplo, os da TAP.
