Elephant Seals spend most of their time in the water but come to shore in very few places, to mate and calf. In October, The males violently fight for the females, and the winner gets them all!! The calves have a short lactancy in which they gain a huge amount of weight while the mother losses a third of its own. Finally the females return to the sea leaving their offspring behind, until they are ready to go into the ocean in search of their own food.
