Laughing dragonfly

A cute little dragonfly that visited me on my roof terrace earlier this year. In the first photo, it smiled politely, but in the second it is laughing at me! I must try to look more distinguished when taking photos.

The bamboo stick is 5mm across.

Thanks for the nice words. The photos were taken with a 35mm macro lens (70mm lens in 35mm film terms) and the lens was at the closests some 5 cm from it. I start taking photos at something like one meters distance and then very slowly go as close as I can - I took some 60 photos before it got tired of me. The same was the case with the maidenfly I use as my avatar.

Vortexbits, you surely can't chase them now you know how friendly thay look!
