Seedy Cattail

2006.11.20

Digitally zoom of photo 1

As far as I can see, it is called a cattail in American-English, but a Typha in British-English or (some say incorrectly) a bulrush. Whatever it is called, I like the colours and the light playing in the seeds.
Olympus e-300 with 40-150 zoom.

(Update: the second photo is just an enlargement of part of the first to show the seeds).

aggiechristine I never thought to look carefully at a cattail going to seed (thought that they were not very attractive at that stage). These photos have changed my opinion. Thanks for looking so closely!
