Two Seasons

2008.01.30
A couple of miles from my home, summer 2007.

Winter 2008

Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again.
Henri Cartier Bresson~

The Tale of two seasons in North Dakota. Summer & Winter.
Around 95° when I took the first photo, high today -12°.

focussed I really love contrast photos. Just yesterday I was thinking about taking a summer and winter photo of a wonderful tree we have at work, but it would require too much patience waiting another 4-5 months till winter. You have identically positioned yourself in each! Fantastic.

photopoet I've always liked conceptual photographs and photos that ask questions. Before and after or contrast photos make me stop and think about the setting. Love the winter scene.

lexlevans i LOVE photo sets like these!! and especially of old barns :-)

-12!!! yikes!!!! it was zero here when i left for work and about 6 degrees when i went to lunch - but i'm thinking it feels toasty compared to your weather today. so i'm not going to complain!! try to stay warm-ish! :-)

throughmylens I know it is cold here too. I do like the contrasts in the two seasons there is so much to look at in both! Wonderfully taken. Is there much PP on it?

pattyb Wonderful quote Eric, perfect.

The two shots are equally beautiful. Amazing how the change of season can create such a different feeling. You live in a beautiful place! ; )
