Ansel Easton Adams (February 20, 1902 – April 22, 1984) was an American photographer and environmentalist, best known for his black-and-white photographs of the American West and primarily Yosemite National Park.

I would have to say that he has had the most influence on my quest to be the best photographer that I can be. There is always something new to learn and it is never boring to say the least.

Yeah but did you ever understand his zone system of exposure? Can't say I have as yet.

GREAT photographer, I agree. I must admit that I forget the technical explanation, but I felt a 'little' better about what I can achieve when I heard (I believe it was in a photography class) that his method of photography allowed him WAY more range than we can possibly get with our cameras today. WHEW... takes the pressure off doesn't it?! :))

This is a very interesting post for an amateur in photography like myself... Among other very interesting info, I discovered that I have the same birthday as such a great photographer...:)
