I anxiously await the UPS truck which will bring my new Digital Rebel XT, my new 28mm f/1.8 lens and my new 50mm f/1.8 a little later today. Yay. Pictures very soon.
That's a Da Vinci quote, by the way.
(hours later....) Okay! So, most of everything got here... Looks like a couple days before the 28mm gets here. The goods arrived at just about the same time that I got my weekly load of locally-grown veggies, so i took some pics of veggies. I've been working night and day lately, and have not had a meal at home in a long time, so the veggies are piling up. Today I decided that it was time to make The Greatest Salad Ever Made. So here is a pic of the beginnings of that. At the time the camera arrived, it was only lettuce and radishes. It got a lot better. I won't say that it is the GSEM, but its yummy just the same.
While impatiently waiting for the battery to charge, I heard friends outside. I grabbed the mostly not charged battery and got off three shots of Emma before it died. She was swinging on the swing, so I had to set it for the AI servo focus, which promptly killed the (already dead) battery. Liking the camera so far, but have really only taken a handful of shots with it. Yay.

yesss! the worst part of getting a new (digital) camera is definitely the time waiting for the battery to charge for the first time.
