My poor dog used to be my wife & I's first-born child. When we had ACTUAL kids, Belle became the family pet instead of the child. She's good at making us feel guilty about this, so we try to entertain her occasionally with fun dog activities.

We took her to a pond that always has a bunch of ducks & geese this morning and let her off the leash (which is normally a bad idea, as she's not very good at obeying). She went nuts chasing the birds, and even got into the pond a bit! She refuses to swim, so belly-deep water is all she's brave enough to endure. But man, she WANTED to go deeper and get some birds! Poor birds...we must have scared them to death.
