Ah... The Freedom Mausoleum. Honestly, this was a very somber, and meloncholy place (why wouldn't it be?) - I stress that because of the extreme contrast of the rest of Forest Lawn. As my last post explained, the majority of the cemetary is certainly more... festive.. and more glorious than your typical graveyard. As it is, I was able to visit 2 of the legendary Marx Brothers.. Gummo, and, the slickest man of his time, and the world's greatest piano player, Chico Marx. You weren't allowed to take photos here, but I risked it- it's not everyday I can pay my respects to a man who was in "Duck Soup", "Animal Crackers", and "A Night At The Opera". I also saw Silent Film star Francis X. Bushman's crypt, which declared, "King Of The Movies". Interesting, but I didn't want to try taking a shot- and besides, his area was cut off with one of those rope barriers you see sometimes at the cinema or in opera houses.

I did my best with this one. This was near the resting place of famous american author, Louis L'Amour. Near here was the Mausoleum which Harold Lloyd was in, but we were not permitted to visit it.

a bit of a lackluster entry, to me at least, further showcasing some of the glitz and kitsch of the legendary Forest Lawn Cemetary, in Glendale, California. i assure my faithful followers, beginning in dreadfully freezing 2010, i am going to resume weekly postings.
