The State Highway Administration showed up one day last week and began tearing up the sidewalk and handicapped ramps that were less than 10 years old to put in new sidewalks and handicapped ramps with bumps on them. Perhaps I could see replacing the ramp itself (not really, they were fine, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt), but the entire sidewalk? Not to mention, what did they do with all concrete they tore up? Dumped it somewhere? What a waste of money and resources!

I totally agree with you on that one. some of the stuff they do is ridiculous! there are many more things that ACTUALLY need repaired, that they don't bother to fix. MidsummerSilence · 2007-06-29: 08:26

Entitlement!! That is what all levels of govenment are doing these days. Very few speak out against these things, they talk about it but do not go to the source to tell them what they think. Thus, the government now believes and has believed, that they are entitled to spend taxpayers money anywhere they want to, without any accountability. And yet, when you ask them to fix the infrastructure of a town or city of old sewers and water pipes, etc, they don't have the funds to do this and raise taxes!!
