Today we drove through the Canyon Village area of Yellowstone, hiking along the north rim of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. We drove further north to the Tower-Roosevelt area, stopping to see the petrified Redwood tree. We had a chance encounter with some buffalo in the Lamar Valley, one of which (seen here sauntering down the middle of the road) tried to ram our van. On the way back we passed areas that had burned during the 1988 wildfires, and saw a wolf walking down the road. We had dinner at Lake Yellowstone where we enjoyed a great dinner and the sunset.
