Saturday we drove south, passing South of the Border, a tacky roadside amusement.

We spent the night in Savannah, Georgia.
|

The city has great architecture.

Today we drove into Florida down I95 but took a slight detour..
|
to see the ocean before we drove inland.
|
We visited Gatorland in Orlando.
|
The peaceful lagoon is anything but.
|
It's full of alligators and crocodiles.
|
swimming right beneath us.
|
and right past all the birds.
|
The gators don't seem to pay attention to the birds at all.
|
This one's a croc - he has a narrow snout.
|
There were baby ones...
|
and giant ones.
|
There were also lots of birds like these parrots...
|
...flamingos...
|
...and egrets.
|
They has shows like this one with audience involvement holding various creatures....
|
...gator wrestling...
|
...and feeding the gators. It was an interesting afternoon.
