Evening Light, Point Hicks

2008.05.10

Point Hicks is in Croajingolong National Park, south eastern Victoria. Point Hicks was so-named by Captain James Cook after his first lieutenant Zachary Hicks. This point was the first landmass sighted by Cook in his 1770 voyage to map the east coast of the Great Southern Continent. It remains unchanged since that time apart from the addition of a lighthouse in 1890.

rolpa Gorgeous pristine environment. Lovely gentle light in these photos. I like all of them very much. (Seen those two shadows somewhere before.) I must get to this place.

jagungal One of my all-time favourite places — and these marvellous photos capture something of its wild beauty. Hard to pick a fav but #2, #4 and #6 would all be contenders.

Cherax A great spot alright, but please don't advertise it.
I'd go for #5 as something a bit different. And yeah, the light is great in some of the others too.

vollenda The light is amazing on the dunes. I love #3. And the gulls and the water are so lovely! It's a place to savor during an evening walk. I think it so great that it is preserved as it is. We need to do that more so we don't lose out on beauty like this.
