I mainly enjoy landscape photography in remote and beautiful locations. My camera is a Nikon D200. All comments are welcome - I have lots to learn!

What - spooks get to travel first class?! Photographically I like #3 and 7.
Richard - only Business as AA doesn't have what we would call First Class. To tell you the truth I am very well and truly over the whole travel thing.

Great photos - I do like them all, but you asked:

Better contrast: get exposure correct, then tweak in post processing. I find that often when using neg exp comp, it is necessary to bring up darker tones and bring down lighter tones (using curves) - this causes loss of contrast, w...
Richard, are you actually encouraging me to purchase a camera similar to Harry's?!

Sadly, that won't work unless I have three decades of knowledge and experience behind me, as he does, or perhaps you do. First I must learn.

Now, to clarify: Are you recommending that I do NOT use the -ev to compensate here? I am trying out Capture NX 2 and using its curves tool. Seems just as good as or better than PS, with fewer steps from the RAW/NEF. Do you shoot jpegs or in the raw?

Thanks for clarification.

LastFrontier The little RSS feed icon has several small icons next to it that I finally decided to check. On your site, look just under February 2007 on your post today. Your vertical images didn't fare as well on my laptop this evening, but on larger monitors, it's a delight to watch your images over and over, on the large scale.

Well, truth is I plan on living with my addiction! ; )
