January Randomness

A sunset on a windy evening in Missouri. It was about 51 degrees with a wind of about 20 MPH with gusts of OMG! But it was a beautiful view.

Hiding in plain sight. This is about a 2 or 3 year old eagle, his tail feathers are just turning white.

This is Merle.....because he looks so Haggard.

It is a dogs life.....Hercules is in the roll, Pickles is the black with red harness, and Merle was just shaved. None were very happy with us....but then were I to have said "wanna bite" they would have been my best friends.

These are all taken with my Nokia 1020 camera phone.

They are what they are because I allowed another to take part of me.......my belief in myself.

I sold all my cameras and vowed I would never put myself out there again.

However, I miss having a camera and will purchase a new one at the beginning of the month.

If you are going to tell me I was wrong to allow another to steal my joy.....DON'T.....I am a Master's student in counseling and know this is a stupid thing to do.

I am working hard to regain my joy in photography, insight into life, and general happiness.

revenant Why the change in heart? Some of us sometimes add "critique" welcomed and, I hope, take the positive input from others in the same spirit in which it is given. My practice, when I know my view is welcomed, is to identify a "problem" (a different interpretation) and to offer a solution. I won't with you because I don't want to offend you - even unwittingly. You're absolutely right: stick to the joy of photography and, in the immortal words of the Sex Pistols, "never mind the bollocks".

Funny thing is, I share your former disillusion with photography, so I decided this year to use only my smartphone here - with all its quirks and foibles. You're more than welcome to critique my stuff if you're so inclined.
