We were camping at a state park, they were tagging and measuring the hummingbirds. It was awesome to watch and I was able to get this photo. Reminds me of an old saying: "A Bird In The Hand is Worth Two In The Bush"
|
This is not taken with a telephoto lens application, they allowed us to walk right up, lean down and take the photo.

I got in a little closer

and closer still...

and one more for good measure. There were several hundred of them around on this day.

My Daddy and My Brother in Law at Christmas 2008. It must have been some joke they were telling.

A storm came up and blew over in a matter of about 30 minutes, this is one of the shots I got prior to the rain.

Here is another from the same above storm, really dark clouds.

At a tiny home I lived was a beautiful iris garden. This one grasp around the stem of the one above it.

Ready to bloom
|
Beginning to bloom. While watching this Iris bloom we sat and talked and photographed every little bit attempting to capture the entire blooming process. (no pun intended, but it works) It took about 4 hours. It was a blessing to get to see it in action.

This was a VERY lucky shot. She stayed on the limb for several hours before she started cleaning her wings.

Ready for Prom
|
My Mothers final resting place, her favorite time of year was Christmas and we always gave her Santas every year. At last count she had over 600. She would put them out every year and more would be added. When she passed we maintain the tradition of putting them out to be admired as well as bringing her a Santa at Christmas.

A robin in April 2009, watching to see if we were going to throw a morsel to him.

A little church in Frankenstein Missouri. The Architecture caught my eye as I was driving through. I stopped, returned and attempted to capture some photographs.

The beginning of Spring, April 2009. The dogwoods are beginning to bloom and the air is crisp.
