Last night was the rare occurrence of Venus passing in front of the Sun, forming a tiny black spot on the star's surface that is visible from Earth. Unfortunately, I was just barely able to view this phenomenon, seeing as I did not have access to a telescope. Instead, I looked through old film negatives in order to protect my eyes. It may have only been my imagination, or a wishful vision, but I do believe I sighted the neighboring planet for at least a few seconds.
Today brought perfect weather for lounging outside with a book under the magnificent, no longer blemished, morning sun.
