Went out into Cocoa Village for my photography class midterm and took about 400 photos so I'm gonna spread the best of them over a few days since I was a slacker the rest of the week as far as the camera was concerned and didn't take anything post-worthy.
The assignment was to start somewhere look all around, take a photo, then take 10 steps in any direction and stop. Look all around and find something interesting to photograph and repeat. 10 more steps, photo, 10 more steps, photo. Essentially don't just look for the obvious and interesting things to photograph. When you're standing somewhere with nothing around, find something and make it interesting through the lens. Think creatively.
We repeated the process in 3 different locations around Cocoa Village and I have to say, I found a LOT of things to photo that I probably would have glazed right over otherwise. Challenge was that it was getting into harsh mid-day sun, but still got plenty of good stuff. Now I have to pick 10 to submit!
