I love the dof both the shots as well, as Dancing Dolphin has pointed out. It gives an incredible sense of smallness to the viewer - that you're part of a much larger place than you can actually see.

Great shots. Empty benches make people imagine themselves sitting there..(like empty chairs on the beach photos). :)
