Chicago Day 6

Kollege, Community, Service and Relationships

I’m going to take a tone for the serious now (for once) and talk about community and giving back (I’m sorry if I sound preachy… but after the first part of the day, I feel I need to get this out)

I belong to a number of different communities (SM, Photographers, IT Geeks, etc). And if there’s a problem with all of these communities is the disparity between them all.

Each fraction wanting one thing, or another. Ego’s arguing across town, village, city and the net… In many respects a bit of ego pushing is good as it drives the community forward. Too much however, and it can set it back.

Without strong leadership, any community is doomed to failure. It is up to us all to help pull together, and fight for the different communities we all represent, and drive it forward.

Now onto our normal broadcast.

After getting up a bit late and having breakfast, it was time to spend the day doing two important things – learning and shopping. I spend the morning learning how to use single tail whips (ala circus masters) whilst damaging and hitting myself. Then it was the joy of different flogging techniques. A wonderful session.

In the meantime, I added to my toy collection, adding at long last a Hitachi Magic Wand.

For those of you who don’t know, a magic wand is basically a massage device that goes between 5000 to 6000 RPM… in other words, it’s bloody powerful!!! Good for sorting out backs… amongst other things ;)

During the afternoon, I gave back some time to the event, and manned security playing badge bitch…. Oh its SO much fun bossing people around…

Whilst the event has starts, I have met some interesting people… one of which is a very good cuddler, and snuggles nicely. She lives in Michigan, but I hope to remain in contact with her… if anything, it’ll give me an excuse to come over to the states a LOT more often (hmm… maybe is wasn’t a bad thing I didn’t get that job at the guild in the end)

Hope is a marvellous thing… it’s what I live for still.

Late evening update – 3amish CST

Relationships are VERY odd things. Poly relationships even more. SM and Poly… Downright odd. Suffice to say the girl mentioned above and me seem to have made a deep connect after … ooh… 36 hours (that’s fast work … even in my book). Suffice to say the top of the family wasn’t impressed (two of his ex’s were “playing” without him, which hitted home for him so control had to be taken back one way or another.

When people play, and use toys, they sometimes leave a deep mark on the skin

I think I’ve a bloody big one inside me, across my brain and my heart.
