Well, I got some sleep in the end. After waking up, and getting some wifi, it was time to get up.
So it was a case of coffee coffee coffee. But is a British accent so hard to understand? Madness.
Walking down to the loop from North Michigan avenue, and then to one of my favourite shops in the loop - Central Camera. Its an odd little shop that stops near enough everything camera related... including my new lens - a Canon EF 17-40L (so most of my shots are from that today) .
It was time to start shooting again. After getting on the L and deciding where to go... it was decided to head out to Wrigley fields, and a visit round Boystown. (for those who remember the Blues Brothers, they gave their address as 1060 W. Addison Street... which is on Addison avenue..)
Interesting and colourful... and a chance to catch up with a friend I met a few months ago.
But time to move onwards... and onto Lake Michigan. At this point, i diverted to Loyola University and onto the coast from there. And onward I went.
... And I'm out of Photo spaces.
A visit to the bean was needed. For those who don't know 'cloud gate' or 'the bean' as the locals call it is a metal reflective sculpture. Meanwhile with the temp at 22c, of course the IceRink was still open.
Was amusing to see people in shorts ice skate in shorts.
A time to rest... and then onto the second highest building in Chicago, the John Hancock tower.
Lots more pictures will appear soon.
1) Downtown - The Chicago River being travelled over the L.
2) City Skyline - on the L
3,4) The Cubs Stadium for that girls game, Rounders ;)
5) Its amazing where they'll put seats...
6) ... and advertise....
7,8) more round the stadium
9, 10, 11) Boystown
12,13 ,14, 16) Lake Michigan

Congrats on the new lens! I love the composition of your first shot - very distinctive.
