NASM - Enterprise (The Space Shuttle)

2009.04.04

A long time since I've seen this bird - last time was June 1983 (and that's many moons ago) when she stopped off at Stansted Airport on the way home from the Paris Airshow

The Shuttle Enterprise was the prototype of the series of space shuttles (Columbia, Challenger, Atlantis, Discovery and Endeavour). Fitted without some core systems (like engines or a functional heat shield), she was not destined to touch the stars unlike her sisters.

Today the Enterprise resides in pride of place of the Space hanger of the NASM: UH Centre
