County of Essex

2009.07.02

47580 - County of Essex is (what is now deemed) a Classic Class 47 Locomotive, Manufactured by Bush Traction of Loughbourgh, was once on of the locomotives that were synomous of British Rail.

The locomotive spent time in its past plouging trade in Essex and the South East and beyond, before being transfered to Rail Express Systems (Royal Mail) and then to EWS - where it was withdrawn due to being surplus to requirements.

Today, the locomotive has been restored, reunited with its plates, and repainted back into a Classic British Rail "Large Logo" Blue, with a Silver Top - as classicly worn by many a Stratford based locomotive.
