Heavy boat accident on the Rhine near the Loreley

2011.01.16
pixel
Like I wrote in my blog the tanker had 2400 tons of sulfuric acid on board.
The good message is, that till now, no signs of a leak had been found by the authorities.
The accident has occured because of the high level of the Rhine river, caused of the melting snow and the heavy rainshowers during the last days.
The problem is now to organize the salvage.
They need four big cranes to do this job.
Hopefully the acid will not reacts with the water - which would lead to a rupture of the tanks!
That would be an environmental disaster!

GKorts Tolle Reportage und schon erstaunlich mit welcher Gelassenheit die alte Dame das Hochwasser betrachtet.
