I like these portraits of Brandi because in a way, I think they represent her life up to now. She spent the first 13 years of her life happy and smiling ... then, in one weekend everything changed. Our father was sick and didn't tell any of us. Suddenly, he was in the hospital. A week later, he stopped breathing. Brandi's whole life got turned upside down. She went from being an "only child" (the only one living with dad) to living with her mother, step father, a half brother and half sister. After a year and a half, I still don't think she's fully adjusted to her new life.
Okay, enough of the deep thinking for now ...
