the importance of things - la importancia de las cosas.
If you know the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke, you understand the importance of things. He wrote many poems about things and about how alive things are.

Today nothing happened........but wait a minute! A day of our life happened. On quiet days things start to talk. Can you hear them?
Hoy nada ha pasado.....pero espera. Un día de nuestra vida ha pasado. En los días más tranquilos las cosas comienzan a hablar.

I wish my friend Scott Radke would still make those wonderful puppets, but he has no time any longer i think.

It´s the little things that count in the end. If you think back you will notice that quite often it´s the so called ¨unimportant¨details that touch you most or that stick to your memory.
I once saw a little girl in a TV show that was dying from cancer. Because of her terminal illness her parents took off time from work and for many months tried to make the life of their child as wonderful as possible. They travelled, went to Disney Land, concerts, theatre, toys, visits of relatives and friends, whatever the little girl wanted they tried to make come true.
In this show the little girl was asked what of all those wonderful adventures and memories she cherishes most. She said:" when i´m not feeling well and i can´t sleep, i sometimes get out of bed in the middle of the night. I go down to the kitchen in the dark, turn on the light and get cornflakes with milk. When my mom hears me she comes down also and sits with me in the kitchen."
