the day started with baking cheese cake. It was an experiment, because the queso fresco here is different from the Quark that i´m used to from Germany for baking this cake. But it turned out well and everybody was enjoying the cake.

later we drove the teenager to the horse stables. Nothing was going on. It was siesta, the stables were closed, nobody there.

seen through my camera now a lizard in the corner of the stairs.
Unfortunately, Enrique, the senior boss of the stables is terrified of lizards. He started yelling and screaming and most of it i didn´t understand. I did get that he didn´t like the lizard and wanted it far away.

he was still shouting and telling me to go far, far away with this monster that destroyed his siesta. Our teenager is watching quite amused with it all.

but when i wanted to put it down, it climbed up my dress and decided to stay there. For a brief moment we discussed to take the lizard home with us for more pictures with the makro lens, but i didn´t like the idea too much. This was the lizard´s home. We couldn´t just relocate it only for some more pictures. I enjoyed carrying it around with me. For me reptiles have this connection to some ancient wisdom and being in contact with them fills me with joy.

I love your imagination and the way you view what you see. The horse and the lizard story are so engaging—love the style of both and your narrative voice.
the horse is just so beautiful.....and your decision not to take the lizard with you made m smile...its good to remembered things arnt always about us and what we want.....nature should be admired but always respected.
