this morning we had to run errands. I waited for you at the pharmacy

and also at the doctor´s office. One of my spanish grammar and exercise books is always in the car and i use the time studying.

next stop was the large supermarket. It´s in a rather industrial area along the coast.

it was hot and the air was white, no wind.

Esther is experimenting with pin hole photography and was happy to play around with motives.

When i´m reading the news i´m sad these days. Buddhism and Tibet means a lot to me. This head of a Tara statue was a gift from a friend. When the Tibetans had to flee their country, they couldn´t take all the treasures and statues of their monasteries, but they knew what was left the Chinese would destroy. Sometimes they cut off the heads of the statues and took them with them. This is one of those heads. For me this statue is not mine. It belongs to Tibet and the Tibetan people. I only keep it safe for now and honor its presence in my home.

Buddhism taught me to honor all things, even the things that are considered minor or small. Tibetan Buddhism for me is not the religion of a few people somewhere in Asia. For me it´s a level of consciousness in all of us. It means a mindful, peaceful existence in harmony with and in service for all beings. What happens to the people of Tibet happens to all of us.
As one Buddhist teacher, Thich Nhat Hanh puts it in his book: "The Sun, my Heart: "As always, the wave lives the life of a wave, and at the same time, the life of water. When you breathe, you breathe for all of us."

Zedsdead Sadly, whatever Budhism means to us, there is the reality of what happens. Budhas teachings should have always been the obvious state in us all. unfortunately we require more and to be led, in order to be peaceful, and so we have religion, God, and other motivational devices such as nationalism, and then we have war. and yes, there is an irony in that, for the Budhist too.

#3 certainly appeals to something in me. ? :o)
