In the wee hours of 18th April, my mother went into labour. Almost 12 hours later, at approximately 5.15pm, I popped out. Like literally.

"I had a long labour. You didn't want to come out.".

That's because I love you to bits, Mum.

I mean, with what the world is going through now, can you blame me for not wanting to get out, back then?

Fast forward to this day of 18th April 2009, (where I'm leaving my 20s forever) what reflections do I have on my life so far?

I'm most thankful that I'm still able to wake up each morning; breathing, alive and kicking.
I'm grateful that God gives me another day to live my life and not have it taken away from me.
I'm thankful that I still have my parents and my loved one, sharing my life with me.
I'm grateful that my best friends are still my best friends and my acquaintances are now my good friends.
I'm thankful that my 5 senses and limbs are still intact.
I'm grateful that the tree outside the kitchen window is still standing tall.
(I'd be kicking buckets if the town council or national parks board decide to chop it down. In fact, I'll tie myself to that tree!)

I may not have all of my wishes fully earned, as yet.

But I'm absolutely and positively thankful for all the blessings that I've been given, thus far.
