Belmar, NJ

Today at the shore... The water is considerably colder than the waters we enjoyed in St. Croix. By September the water temps should reach the mid 70's. The Belmar daily beach pass is $7 per person. This gets you a clean beach and lots of lifeguards..

Birds of a feather flocking together

From the hip

At the ready...

Seagulls have littered the sand with mussel shells but human detritus is almost non-existent on this beach.

The cure for anything is salt water - sweat, tears, or the sea.
~Isak Dinesen

The weather looked iffy with clouds and threats of rain but we went anyway. We went early enough that few people were on the road and few were at the shore when we arrived. It turned out to be a wonderful morning. When the skies started to clear the crowds materialized and we went home.
