Had a fantastic Dim Sum brunch at a beautiful place on the Harbour with my colleagues today. Then we checked out some shopping (I went with the group who went to all the cheap, local stores), then we got on a couple of buses and headed to the second locale of our trip: Shenzhen, China. Crossing the border was interesting-- we have to get out of the vehicle, carry our own luggage through the customs building, then get back into the vehicle on the other side of the border. Our hotel in Shenzhen is really nice, but we are not allowed to go outside alone. Kidnapping for ransom isn't uncommon, apparently... :( I do actually feel pretty on-edge/ unsafe here, which I have only felt in a couple other places in my life.
