When we got down into the subway, I noticed piano music, but thought "surely it must be a recording." au contraire. this guy actually pulled the piano on a dolly down an elevator onto the subway platform below Union Square!
In NYC subways, musicians are everywhere-- it's pretty legit to set up shop and play in the hopes that someone important may see and hear you and give you a record deal (plus it's good practice), but this is DEFINITELY the first piano I've seen on any platform. |

We also learned that he's not doing this for money, and may, in fact, have a steady musical career above-ground-- he's a part of "Music Under New York," a program sponsored by the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA).
I just checked: he is a successful musician/ composer and has a great website |

When I arrived home after work on Monday, I found this scene directly outside my apartment. This was the view from my front stoop. Those lights were making it look like daylight in my bedroom!
|
that's Amber Tamblyn on the left. My roommate Kerry and I figured out that they are filming for a new show on ABC called The Unusuals. The scene involved a ton of money blowing all over the place.
