Tonight, with Nicole as our first guest, we had our first homemade sit-down dinner at our new house. Earlier in the day, Nicole and I visited newly-opened Eataly, which is Mario Batali's latest venture. When I first heard about it, I thought it would be cheesy and obnoxious, but I have to admit, it was really amazing. It was like an upscale Ikea for Italian food. We sampled some cheeses, had some wine, saw Gwenyth Paltrow doing her shopping, and bought some groceries ourselves. Fresh pasta, incredible heirloom tomatoes, and fresh foccaccia... Brought it all home, and we made a very yummy meal.
