We put up our fake tree today and got all our decorations up. It's been freezing today, and is supposed to start snowing this afternoon, so it will start to feel more like Christmas.
When I was about 8 years old, I watched an episode of "Rescue 911" about a house that caught fire because the Christmas tree was so dry and that freaked me out like you can't imagine. I would check the tree for water every night and feel the little Christmas tree lights to see if they felt too hot. Then I would worry every night that our tree was going to catch fire. I am not that bad anymore, but I still worry when I see really dead trees.
