This morning I was out walking around my hood & was pleasantly surprised to find this gentleman shooting hoops. After introductions & a brief glance at my camera, he was happy to share his story & experiences with me of his time spent living on the streets while I rebounded countless un-missed shots of his from the top of the key.
We took turns, with him making far more baskets than I did. Before I realized it, more than thirty minutes had passed & I'd worked up quite an appetite. Asking if Bob would like to join me for a bite to eat, he respectfully declined. I asked if he'd like for me to bring him back something, he smiled & said if a breakfast sandwich & orange juice wouldn't be too much trouble, he'd be appreciative...........but ONLY if I'd shoot some more baskets with him. Funny thing was, I spent more time once again, rebounding for Bob than I did shooting baskets myself...........& that was okay with both of us!!!
