Brick Bokeh

2010.02.13
pixel
Most of the snow is gone now, but this remains on top of the patio wall.

Manual focus, kit lens at close range (not macro)

Tried to capture detail in the snow and brick at the same time. Pleased with the result.

This snow cap is on a small wall on our patio. I played with an old exposure meter (it STILL works) and manual camera settings - comparing it to the automatic reading in the camera, plus tried some close-up work with a standard lens focused manually. I still believe the photographer should control the shot, not the camera.

djnana I think I'll miss it when it's gone...

kellybee322 Very nice set. #3 did come out very nicely. The dof works very well to focus your eye in on the really neat textures. I'm so jealous of everyone that has snow. Next year!

Jarvo Nice shots Larry. And good for you - that's a good philosophy for a photographer to have.
